The War On Drugs

By on November 28, 2016

When I was younger, I distinctly remember telling not only my parents and peers, but also myself, that I would “never do drugs”. What were drugs exactly? Frankly, I don’t think I would have been able to answer that question adequately. However, if I had been faced with that question when I was in that frame of mind, I probably would have tersely answered “You know, illegal drugs!”.

In a lot of cultures, legal drugs are generally not considered to be drugs at all. I don’t blame the people at all. After all, the government cares about them, right? The government wouldn’t make alcohol & tobacco legal if they weren’t totally safe, right? Further more, there must obviously be a totally logical explanation as to why cannabis & serotonergic psychedelics are illegal, right? I mean, obviously there must be a single way in which the prohibition of drug use is helping humanity at the moment, right? Dear fuck, how I wish this was actually the case.

The truth turns out to be rather inconvenient, our laws & the people reinforcing them seem to be outdated in terms of the ideologies that they are built on. So, no “Lizard People” & “Illuminati” bullshit. It turns out there are just a lot of very rich, very stupid people steering the vessel of humanity.

I object.

Who are they? These opulent “leaders” with armies, palaces & hubris. They’re cowards, regurgitating infantile tactics that have been perpetuated by less consciously evolved versions of us throughout the discourse of history. The time has come. The time is here. Now that we are capable of crafting the most perfect future together, we must begin to prepare for a shift in power. The power is to be returned to the people. Get ready for it. Attack ignorance with pragmatic & tactful reason and discussion. You know the truth. The truth is that things can be much better on a global scale. The truth is that life doesn’t need to be pointless & depressing. The only thing holding us back is our collectively oppressed subconscious. Stagnant culture has run its course in history. It is time for us to develop a dynamic system based on universal empathy & sustainability.

Excuse the tangent, back to the drug war.

There is no reason for it to be a thing. People taking drugs isn’t a case of national safety. People should be responsible for their own drug use. People should receive adequate drug education & harm reduction information. People should not need to live in a reality where drugs are better than anything else in the reality. Together we can create a future without bullshit. I don’t think it actually even needs to be anything more than that. We could look at Portugal’s charts, they reappropriated incarceration funds for things such as education as well as wages to help addicts back into the working sector.

Those charts represent Portugal, post decriminalisation. But to be honest, I don’t even think we should need to go into such specifics. Prohibition is so painfully obviously the worst decision we could be making when it comes to drugs in society. It is just total bullshit and needs to be dealt with correctly. We need to regulate substances. People need to be able to get clean product so that their harm reduction information can actually be rendered useful. People need to stop getting killed by Fentanyl & other deadly adulterants. People need to understand that as long as drugs are being used safely & sensibly, there is not even any reason for concern. More than anything else, we need to make existence into something more than being slaves to corporate sectors that turn us into mechanistic marionettes for profit. It’s time to create a future worth living in.

I look forward to working with you. 🙂
