Drug Interaction Chart

By on December 4, 2016

This is a great drug interaction chart provided by Tripsit.

You may notice that Cannabis has been classified under the “Caution” flag for interactions with seretonergic psychedelics such as LSD, Mushrooms (Psilocybin), DMT etc. Please note that the reason these are labelled as caution is that cannabis can exacerbate the likelihood of a “bad trip” when combined with psychedelics. Please understand that this caution label is present in order to provide the most globally acceptable guidelines to even inexperienced viewers of this chart, however, if you are experienced with combining psychedelics & cannabis, there is nothing physically threatening about the combination. In fact there is actually a synergy present between psychedelics and cannabis, however one needs to prepared for the fact that cannabis will make the trip more intense. I am a fan of this combination, however it depends largely on timing.

In my experience, I have found that in terms of combining cannabis and psychedelics, it works best to save the introduction of cannabis for either:

  • The peak of the psychedelic high (this will make it even more intense, this can feel overwhelming, so be prepared).
  • After the peak of the psychedelic high (this will bring it back to life, but won’t be overwhelming).

If you have never consumed cannabis and psychedelics together, but would like to, I recommend trying the 2nd option first (after peak), before trying to smoke during peak. This is a safer way to do things.

I find that smoking cannabis before the peak is a waste of this particular combination, I feel this leads to a net decrease in the experience produced by the psychedelic in question.
